Our Story
Born From Fire
Baba Suya Grill started with a simple belief: the best food comes from honest ingredients, open flame, and recipes passed down through generations.
The Tradition
Suya is more than a dish — it’s a cultural institution across West Africa. From Lagos to Accra, the sight of a suya vendor’s grill glowing in the evening is a signal that community is gathering.
Our founder grew up watching his father tend the grill — learning the art of fire control, the patience of slow-roasting, and the precision of the perfect yaji blend. That knowledge now lives in every skewer we serve.
The Craft
We source our meats from local farms committed to quality. Every cut is hand-selected, hand-sliced, and hand-seasoned with our proprietary yaji spice blend — a mix of ground peanuts, ginger, cayenne, paprika, and over a dozen carefully balanced spices.
The grill runs on natural hardwood charcoal. No gas, no shortcuts. The smoke infuses each piece with a depth of flavor that simply cannot be replicated any other way.
“We don’t just make suya. We carry forward a tradition that belongs to millions of people.”
— Baba, Founder
